American Red Cross
One of the priority safety and preparedness programs for the American Red Cross is the ongoing Home Fire Safety campaign, which has helped save more than 1,500 lives nationwide since its inception. An essential part of that program is Sound the Alarm, through which Red Cross volunteers install up to three (3) new smoke alarms in homes needing and requesting them. With a goal to install 1,000 smoke alarms during Sound the Alarm and thereby make the western New York community safer, volunteers are needed. Installations will be ongoing through the month of May, with a signature installation event on Saturday, April 22.
Help keep Buffalo safe by volunteering some time to install free smoke alarms for your community friends and neighbors.
