St. Bonaventure Warming House Empty Bowls & Baskets Dinner

Thursday, September 26, 2024 (6:00 PM - 9:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

St. Bonaventure University

St. Bonaventure University is celebrating the 50th year of The Warming House, a soup kitchen located in Olean, New York. The Warming House serves individuals a home-cooked, hot meal every day except Saturday. The guests who typically attend are food insecure. Some may be homeless, others are seeking companionship and many are the working poor.

Founded by students in 1974, The Warming House continues to be led by students today. This is no small commitment. Each student learns about generational poverty and how to interact with vulnerable populations. They gain hands-on experience in nutritious meal planning and safe food preparation while acquiring management and leadership skills.

The Empty Bowls & Baskets Dinner is Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 6:00pm at St. Bonaventure University.

To purchase tickets, donate to the silent auction or to consider a sponsorship, please visit www.sbu.edu/warminghouse50

It is our goal to raise funds for creation of an endowment that will ensure The Warming House offers St. Bonaventure University students hands-on learning opportunities while at the same time helping the Olean community to combat food insecurity for another 50 years. Please consider joining us at the dinner or a donation so we may achieve this goal.
