YMCA Buffalo Niagara 128th Annual Turkey Trot
Thursday, November 23, 2023 (8:00 AM - 11:00 AM) (EST)
Description
The 128th Annual YMCA Turkey Trot
Thursday, November 23, 2023
The YMCA Turkey Trot is an 8k footrace held annually on Thanksgiving Day in the City of Buffalo, NY. The race welcomes competitive and amateur runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages. Known to be the oldest consecutively run footrace in the world, the YMCA Turkey Trot started in 1896 with six runners on dirt roads. Today, the race caps at 14,000 participants, many of whom like to dress in costume. Click here to register!
Participants travel an 8k course that begins on Delaware Avenue in North Buffalo and finishes downtown near the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Consider joining us this year – a great way to work up an appetite and support the Y Mission by making a positive impact on the families we serve. This event is YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s largest fundraising event, now raising over $300,000 annually to help fund YMCA programs that empower youth, ensure health equity, and provide support to our community’s most vulnerable.
